ePM10 is the separation efficiency for particles from 0.3 to 10 µm, which includes pollen and medium dust. ePM10 50 % means that the filter separates half of these particles. According to the conversion table, M5 and M6 correspond to about ePM10 50 to 65 %.
M5 is the usual extract air filter and pre-filter in residential ventilation. M6 is often chosen where pollen should also be retained. In air handling units, ePM10 filters often serve as a pre-stage upstream of an ePM1 fine filter.
In this category you will find bag filters such as AFPRO HQ, LSB and PFL/PXL, compact filters and panels of the CP, CPMC and CPAK series, panel filters and replacement filters for ventilation units from Nilan, S&P, InoxAir and WANAS. Many filters are available in several classes. You choose the class you need as a variant on the product page. The manufacturer's data sheet is always decisive.

As a guide, M5 is assigned to ePM10 50 to 65 %. There is no exact conversion. The ePM10 value on the filter data sheet is decisive.
As a rule of thumb, about 3 to 6 months apply to M5 or ePM10 50 %. The unit manufacturer's specifications and, for air handling units, VDI 6022 are binding.
