A compact filter contains pleated filter media in a rigid frame. It needs less installation depth than a bag filter and stays dimensionally stable, even with changing air flow. Compact filters are often used as fine filters in the supply air, flat panels also in ventilation units with little installation space.
The key factors are the size (width x height x depth in mm), the filter class and the frame and gasket version. The filter class is specified by the system design or the unit manufacturer. Filters by class: ISO Coarse (G4) · ePM10 (M5, M6) · ePM2.5 (F7) · ePM1 (F8, F9). For very fine particles there are also HEPA filters E10 to H14. The classes are explained in our guide filter classes for ventilation systems.
That depends on the series. The CPMC, CP and CPAK panels are flat, HPQ and CS85/CS98 for example are 292 mm deep. The depth depends on the filter frame of your system.
According to the manufacturer or when the final pressure drop is reached. For air handling units the maximum intervals of VDI 6022 also apply.
Compact filters are shorter and dimensionally stable, bag filters have a large filter area and hold a lot of dust. Which design fits depends on the filter frame and the space in the system.
