Pocket & Compact Filters

28 items

Bag filters and compact filters for ventilation systems and air handling units, mainly from AFPRO Filters, plus replacement filters from S&P, InoxAir and Nilan. The filters are classified to ISO 16890 (ePM1, ePM2.5, ePM10, ISO Coarse) and are available in many sizes as variants.

Bag filters

Thanks to their pockets, bag filters have a large filter area and therefore a high dust holding capacity. They are mostly used as fine filters or pre-filters in supply and extract air. The range includes AFPRO HQ55, HQ65, HQ85 and HQ98, the HSB series, the HD series, the ECO70 series as well as rigid bag filters such as PFL/PXL and PPL/PPS. Matching frames are listed under bag filter holding frames.

Compact filters

Compact filters contain pleated filter media in a rigid frame. They need less depth than bag filters and remain dimensionally stable even with fluctuating air flow. Examples are the AFPRO HPQ, the CS85/CS98, the CPAK series, the CPMC panels with metal frame and the CP panels with plastic frame. For odours there is the HPQ-AK combination filter with activated carbon, for very fine particles the CS-H13 with PTFE membrane.

Replacement filters for ventilation units

Matching replacement filters are available for individual units, for example S&P AFR-CAIT for CAIT units, Nilan bag filters and the InoxAir bag filters G3 to F7. Other types such as panel, HEPA and carbon filters are listed under Air Filters.

How to choose the right filter

  1. Size: width x height x depth in mm (for bag filters the pocket depth) and the frame size of the unit.
  2. Filter class to ISO 16890 according to the design or unit manufacturer, for example ePM10 as pre-filter and ePM1 as fine filter.
  3. Type: bag filters for high dust loads and long service life, compact filters for limited depth or fluctuating air flow.
  4. Change according to the manufacturer or when the final pressure drop is reached; for air handling units VDI 6022 sets maximum intervals.

The guide filter classes for ventilation systems explains the classes, the guide ventilation maintenance plan the change intervals.

Frequently asked questions about bag and compact filters

Bag filter or compact filter?

Bag filters have a large filter area and hold a lot of dust but need depth. Compact filters are shorter and dimensionally stable. Which type fits depends on the filter frame and the space in the unit.

Which filter class do I need for the ventilation system?

This is specified by the design or the unit manufacturer. Often a pre-filter of group ISO Coarse or ePM10 is combined with a fine filter of group ePM1.

When does a bag filter need changing?

According to the manufacturer or when the final pressure drop is reached; for the AFPRO PFL/PXL series, for example, the manufacturer states 450 Pa as final pressure drop. For air handling units the maximum intervals of VDI 6022 also apply.
