A bag filter consists of several filter bags fixed in a frame. The bags increase the filter area for the same face area. This gives a high dust holding capacity and long service life. Bag filters are used as pre-filters (ISO Coarse, ePM10) and as fine filters (ePM2.5, ePM1) in supply and extract air. They need installation depth: for the models in our range the bags are between 150 and 670 mm deep.
Replacement filters for ventilation units: Nilan bag filters, Nilan bag filter F7 / M5 for FU 28, InoxAir bag filters G3, G4, M5 and F7 and S&P AFR-CAIT for CAIT units. Matching frames in galvanised steel or stainless steel can be found under bag filter holding frames.
The key factors are the size (width x height x depth in mm), the filter class and the number of bags. The filter class is specified by the system design or the unit manufacturer. Filters by class: ISO Coarse (G4) · ePM10 (M5, M6) · ePM2.5 (F7) · ePM1 (F8, F9). The classes are explained in our guide filter classes for ventilation systems.
That depends on the frame width and the model. More bags mean more filter area. For several series you choose the version with 2 to 10 bags as a variant on the product page.
According to the manufacturer or when the final pressure drop is reached. For the AFPRO PFL/PXL series, for example, the manufacturer states 450 Pa. For air handling units the maximum intervals of VDI 6022 also apply.
Bag filters hold a lot of dust but need installation depth. Compact filters are shorter and dimensionally stable. Which design fits depends on the filter frame and the space in the system.
