ePM1 is the separation efficiency for particles up to 1 µm. ePM1 80 % means that the filter separates 80 % of these very small particles. According to the conversion table, F8 and F9 correspond to about ePM1 50 to 80 %.
ePM1 filters are used as final filters, for example in the supply air for allergy sufferers or in patient areas of hospitals. The pressure drop is higher than with coarser filters, which should be taken into account when sizing the fan. An upstream ISO Coarse or ePM10 filter extends the service life.

As a guide, F8 and F9 are assigned to ePM1 50 to 80 %. There is no exact conversion. The ePM1 value on the data sheet is decisive.
No. HEPA filters are not part of ISO 16890, they are classified to EN 1822 (E10 to H14). Suitable filters can be found under HEPA filters.
