Description
Description
The AFPRO HEPA HPM Series comprises particulate air filters with glass fibre paper as the filter medium in a frame made of medium-density fibreboard (MDF). The catalogue lists the series under the turbulent flow filters (article number scheme p. 79). The manufacturer intends the filters for cleanrooms, asbestos removal and operating theatres.
All HPM filters are available in several versions: filter classes E10, E11, E12, H13, H14, U15, ePM1 55% and ePM1 80%, frame depths from 130 to 340 mm and several versions (spacers, gasket, grid). The classes ePM1 55% and ePM1 80% are classes according to ISO 16890 and not particulate air filter classes according to EN 1822. The catalogue series HPM lists the classes E10, E11, H13 and H14; for the other classes and versions, the information is taken from our article data.

Features
Features
- According to EN 1822, group E (EPA) includes the classes E10, E11 and E12, group H (HEPA) the classes H13 and H14 and group U (ULPA) the class U15. Minimum efficiency (integral value at MPPS) according to catalogue p. 27: E10 at least 85%, E11 at least 95%, E12 at least 99.5%, H13 at least 99.95%, H14 at least 99.995%, U15 at least 99.9995%.
- According to ISO 16890, the classes ePM1 55% and ePM1 80% state the efficiency for particles from 0.3 to 1 µm; according to catalogue p. 19, the percentage is rounded down to 5%. These classes are not particulate air filter classes according to EN 1822.
- According to the catalogue, the airflow is limited to 125% of the nominal value. At a higher airflow, filters may fall into a lower class.
- Installation notes from the manufacturer (catalogue p. 142): Do not touch the filter medium. Every filter must be validated after installation to check that it is seated correctly.
- According to the article number scheme (catalogue p. 79), the type belongs to the turbulent flow filters; the type code HPM stands for a medium-density fibreboard (MDF) frame.
Please check the installation dimension of your filter frame before ordering.
Note on variants
Note on variants
Select the dimension, the filter class and the version. The dimension is given in mm. The version corresponds to the first digits of the article number according to the article number scheme of the AFPRO HEPA filters (catalogue p. 79 and 89): type, digit 2 spacers (1 hot-melt, 2 aluminium), digit 3 gasket; followed by filter class, grid, height, width and frame depth. Codes that the scheme does not explain are given as a code; the catalogue does not explain suffixes such as HT or ES. If no grid is named in the version, the variant has no protective grid. According to the scheme (p. 79), the last letter of the article number stands for the frame depth: L = 150 mm, M = 292 mm; for special sizes, the dimensions are given directly in the article number. Where the catalogue gives performance data for a variant, they are shown with the variant selection; the catalogue gives no performance data for the other variants.
| Dimensions (mm) | Filter area (m²) | Nominal airflow (m³/h) |
|---|---|---|
| 288x592x292 | 8.8 | 900 |
| 305x305x150 | 2.3 | 225 |
| 305x305x292 | 4.6 | 500 |
| 305x610x292 | 9.7 | 1000 |
| 457x457x150 | 8.4 | 500 |
| 457x457x292 | 11.3 | 1120 |
| 457x610x292 | 15.4 | 1500 |
| 592x592x292 | 19.8 | 1850 |
| 610x610x150 | 10.5 | 900 |
| 610x610x292 | 21.1 | 2000 |
| 610x762x150 | 13.3 | 1125 |
| 610x762x292 | 26.7 | 2500 |
| Filter class | Initial pressure drop at nominal airflow (Pa) |
|---|---|
| E10 | 125 |
| E11 | 140 |
| H13 | 250 |
| H14 | 280 |
Values according to the AFPRO catalogue 2026, pp. 80 and 81. Filter area and nominal airflow depend only on the dimension, the initial pressure drop only on the filter class.
Filter classes E10 to U15 to EN 1822
HEPA filters are divided into three groups to EN 1822: E10, E11 and E12 (EPA), H13 and H14 (HEPA) and U15 to U17 (ULPA). The higher the class, the higher the efficiency for the most penetrating particle size. In this product you choose the class under filter class, the size under dimensions and gasket or grille under version. The classes ePM1 55% and ePM1 80% are classes to ISO 16890.
Further AFPRO HEPA filters are the HLA series with aluminium frame, the HLM series with MDF frame (laminar flow) and the HPG series. Matching frames are listed under AFPRO HEPA holding frames, all filters under Air Filters. The guide filter classes for ventilation systems explains the classes.
