HEPA filters E10 to H14

High-efficiency particulate filters remove very fine particles from the air and are used wherever air cleanliness requirements are high. Filter classes according to EN 1822

The EN 1822 standard divides high-efficiency filters into groups: E10 to E12 are EPA filters, H13 and H14 are HEPA filters, and U15 belongs to the ULPA group. The higher the class, the higher the required efficiency. Some variants are also classified according to ISO 16890, for example ePM1 80 %; this is not a high-efficiency filter class. Frequently asked questions about HEPA filters

What is the difference between EPA and HEPA?

Both groups are defined in EN 1822. HEPA filters of classes H13 and H14 must achieve a higher efficiency than EPA filters of classes E10 to E12.

Do I need a pre-filter in front of a HEPA filter?

As a rule, yes. Upstream filters capture coarser dust and so protect the more expensive high-efficiency filter. Suitable filters are available under bag and compact filters and air filters.

How do I find the right filter?
