Description
Description
Nilan Elektronachheizregister (electric post-heater) is an electric heater for installation in the supply air duct after a Nilan ventilation unit. According to the manufacturer, a post-heater is used when a constant supply air temperature is required or the air is to be heated further after the heat exchanger; a supply air temperature that is too low can be perceived as a draught.
The heater is controlled with a 0 to 10 V signal via the CTS control built into the Nilan units.
Technical data
Technical data
| Control | 0 to 10 V signal via the CTS control of the ventilation unit |
|---|---|
| Minimum air velocity | > 1.5 m/s |
| Housing | aluzinc sheet steel |
| Heating element | stainless steel (AISI 304) |
| Degree of protection | IP44 |
| Overheating protection | max. thermostat switches off above 50 °C (above 70 °C when mounted vertically); safety thermostat switches off above 100 °C, followed by manual reset |
| Duct connections | with rubber seal |
Features
Features
- Required output according to Nilan: temperature difference (K) x 0.34 x airflow (m³/h) = W. Example: without a pre-heater, the supply air at 126 m³/h must be heated from -10 °C to 21 °C; this gives 31 x 0.34 x 126 = 1328 W.
- According to the manufacturer, no special maintenance is required; once a year, check that the power connection is in order.
- The heater is only suitable for heating clean air.

Frost protection pre-heaters for the outdoor air duct are available under the Nilan electric pre-heater.
Installation notes
Installation notes
According to Nilan, a minimum distance of 15 cm must be kept between the electric heater and combustible materials; the heater must be insulated with flame-retardant material, and the cover of the connection box must not be insulated. For proper control, the temperature sensor should be placed at least 50 cm after the post-heater. The post-heater must be activated in the software of the ventilation unit.
