Nilan Compact P2, also with GEO Ground Source or AIR9 Heat Pump

Nilan Compact P2 is a compact unit for ventilation with heat recovery, heating and cooling of the supply air and domestic hot water preparation. According to Nilan, the Compact P2 is designed for single and multi-family houses with a ventilation requirement of up to 425 m³/h. A counterflow heat exchanger recovers the heat from the exhaust air; a reversible heat pump uses the remaining energy for the domestic water in the 180-litre tank and for heating or cooling the supply air.

Available is the base unit or the Compact P2 with integrated ground source heat pump GEO3, GEO6 or GEO9 (geothermal energy as the source for underfloor or low-energy heating) or with the integrated indoor unit of the AIR9 air/water heat pump (the AIR9 outdoor unit is a separate item). Depending on the variant, the versions KF, KF Polar (with integrated preheater) and versions with stainless steel tank are available. Control is via the CTS602 with HMI touch panel.

• Heat recovery in two stages: counterflow heat exchanger (passive) and reversible heat pump (active). The heat pump uses the energy remaining in the extract air after the heat exchanger for hot water or to further heat the supply air.
• 100% bypass: in summer mode (outdoor temperature above 14 °C) the bypass routes cooler outdoor air past the heat exchanger.
• Active cooling of the supply air via the reversible heat pump, according to the data sheet with a difference between outdoor and supply air of approx. 10 °C. The active cooling function must be activated; the heat removed is stored in the hot water tank.
• Hot water: scald protection in the software (60 °C), legionella function (heating to 65 °C on a set day), electric auxiliary heater switched off ex works.
• Compact P2: Hot water tank: enamelled steel with electronically monitored sacrificial anode; in the versions with stainless steel tank made of stainless steel according to the Nilan installation instructions.
• Frost protection: the Polar versions have an integrated preheater for the counterflow heat exchanger. Without Polar, the control has a defrost function; according to the installation instructions, Nilan then recommends an external preheater (accessory) for longer frost periods.
• CTS602: four ventilation levels, continuously adjustable from 20 to 100% (supply and extract air separately), weekly programme, time-controlled filter alarm (factory setting 90 days), humidity control, open Modbus RS485 protocol. Carbon dioxide control with accessory.
• Accessories according to the Compact P2 data sheet: electric preheater, electric reheater, EM box, additional board, carbon dioxide sensor, vibration dampers, sound-absorbing flexible hose, pollen filter ISO ePM1 50 to 65% (F7), HMI panel extension cable, pallet truck and gateway for the app solution.
• Geo: Hot water tank made of enamelled steel with an electronically monitored sacrificial anode; the control panel indicates when the anode needs to be replaced.
• Geo: Passive cooling possible: according to Nilan, with an external heat exchanger (accessory) the cold brine is used to cool the water in the central heating system.
• Air9: Hot water tank: enamelled steel with electronically monitored sacrificial anode; in the versions with stainless steel tank made of stainless steel according to the Nilan installation instructions.
• Air9: Cooling mode and space heating: according to Nilan, when the ventilation part is in cooling mode it stops the AIR9 so that they do not work against each other; the AIR9 can be set so that it still heats when the underfloor heating calls for heat.
• Air9: The AIR9 does not heat the hot water directly; according to Nilan, in a version with solar coil it can be connected to the hot water tank or preheat an additional SHW tank (250 l) to 45 °C.
