Central ventilation units (MVHR)

A central ventilation unit supplies an entire flat, house or commercial area via a duct network. It extracts stale air from the bathroom, WC and kitchen, supplies filtered outdoor air to the living spaces and transfers heat from the extract air to the supply air. Our range includes units from Nilan, Blauberg and S&P as well as supply air units from InoxAir.

Unit size and application

The Nilan Comfort range extends from the shallow Comfort 200 Top for renovating flats to the Comfort 5000 for schools, offices and commercial premises. Blauberg offers KOMFORT EC, Reneo and Reneo-Fit units for wall, ceiling or floor mounting, some in a lightweight EPP casing. For commercial systems there are S&P CADB, SLIM and RHE, plus supply-only units of the CAIT and CAIB series with heating or cooling coils.

Key selection criteria

• Airflow matched to the calculated ventilation demand, with headroom for the external pressure loss of the ducts
• Heat exchanger: counterflow, enthalpy with moisture recovery, or rotary heat exchanger (Blauberg KOMFORT Roto, S&P RHE)
• Pre or post heater, for example Nilan Polar or Blauberg KOMFORT EC DBE
• Connection side left or right, control via app or building management via Modbus

Matching ducts, bends and manifolds are available under ventilation ducts and fittings, and all units from the Danish manufacturer under Nilan.

Frequently asked questions about central ventilation units

How do I plan a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery?

Central or decentralised?

Central units are easiest to plan into new builds or full renovations because ducts have to be installed. Where that is not possible, units from our decentralised ventilation category are an alternative.

What is the bypass for?

The bypass routes outdoor air around the heat exchanger. On cool summer evenings this lets fresh air into the rooms without heat recovery.
