Description

Resol Grundfos Direct Sensor™ measures two values with one measuring element: the VFS and VFD sensors measure temperature and flow rate, the RPS and RPD sensors temperature and relative pressure. According to Resol, they are suitable for aggressive media and drinking water and intended for flow measurement and heat quantity measurement or for leakage and overpressure monitoring in solar thermal and heating systems.

The analogue versions (VFS, RPS) provide ratiometric voltage signals, the digital versions (VFD, RPD) transmit the measured values directly via the RESOL VBus® protocol. The flow sensors work on the vortex flow measurement principle and have no moving parts. Scope of delivery according to the data sheet: sensor with fitting, insert (VFS/VFD) and connection cable.

According to Resol, all versions offered are the variants for solar and drinking water. According to Resol, the digital sensors are only suitable for certain controllers: VFD for DeltaSol® AL E HE, DeltaSol® MX, BX Plus, CS series and DeltaTherm® HC; RPD for DeltaSol® MX, BX Plus and DeltaTherm® HC.

Installation notes

According to the manual, the sensors can be damaged if the empty system is filled or flushed too quickly; open the filling valve by max. 30% at the beginning. The system must be flushed and free of foreign matter. The earthing resistance between the pipe and the sensor ground must be less than 10 Ω.
