On the other hand, with today's high-performance flat plate collectors and direct-flow vacuum tube collectors, it can happen that the conventional heat transfer medium ages prematurely at high stagnation temperatures. To prevent this, the maximum operating pressure of the system can be limited to 4 bar or a thermally highly stable heat transfer medium can be used. Important notes regarding the use of heat transfer fluids: Only use fluids that are expressly suitable for the system in question. All parts of the system that come into contact with the fluids must be glycol-resistant. For optimum efficiency, the glycol concentration in the heat transfer fluid should not exceed 50%.
